Admission to the VCU Global Student Success Program has undergraduate and graduate entry points. Each are described below:

Undergraduate GSSP admission eligibility

  • One semester: (6.0 IELTS/70 TOEFL/56 Pearson Versant equivalency* / avg. US cumulative GPA 2.5**)
  • Two semesters: (5.5 IELTS/60 TOEFL/50 Pearson Versant equivalency / avg. US cumulative GPA 2.0**)
  • Three semesters: (5.0 IELTS/50 TOEFL/46 Pearson Versant equivalency / avg. US cumulative GPA 2.0**)

*6.5 IELTS/80 TOEFL for Engineering
**3.0 for Engineering

Graduate GSSP admission eligibility

  • Public Administration: 6.0 IELTS/70 TOEFL/56 Pearson Versant equivalency / avg. US cumulative GPA 2.7
  • Engineering: 6.0 IELTS/70 TOEFL/56 Pearson Versant equivalency / avg. US cumulative GPA 2.8
  • Business: 6.0 IELTS/80 TOEFL/56 Pearson Versant equivalency / avg. US cumulative GPA 3.0

Students’ English proficiency levels and academic credentials, upon admission, thus determine entry point.

General notes

  • All program courses are offered in-person.
  • The Undergraduate and Graduate GSSP are offered on the VCU campus.
  • Minimum requirements to be considered for admission to the Undergraduate GSSP include completion of secondary education, i.e., equivalent credential to a U.S. high school diploma; cumulative GPA equivalent of 2.0 or higher; minimum language proficiency equivalent to IBT TOEFL of 50/IELTS of 5.0/Navitas Pearson Versant Test of 46. Students must maintain full-time enrollment status via a combination of credit and clock hours; remain in good academic standing; and make progress towards program completion in order to maintain continued enrollment in the program.
  • Minimum requirements to be considered for admission to the Graduate GSSP include completion of a post-secondary degree equivalent to a U.S. bachelor’s degree; cumulative GPA equivalent of 2.7 or higher; minimum language proficiency equivalent to IBT TOEFL of 70/IELTS of 6.0/Navitas Pearson Versant Test of 56. Students must maintain full- time enrollment status via a combination of credit and clock hours; remain in good academic standing; and make progress towards program completion in order to maintain continued enrollment in the program.
